The new school required the acquisition of 40 parcels and the relocation of 154 households. It involved the vacation of streets and the relocation of drainage and utility infrastructure. Located in Normal Heights in Mid-City, the new school can accommodate 600 students on 5.9 acres. A joint use area (JUA) will be used for soccer, baseball, basketball and includes playground structures. Burkett & Wong Engineers provided civil engineering, surveying and mapping services for the project. On site design was processed through DSA and public improvements through the City of San Diego. The City submittal included both discretionary and ministerial processing as well as coordination for the JUA.
